Bees can lock up series with win

The Bees are hosting Tacoma for five games at Spring Mobile Ballpark, and can win the series with a third consecutive victory tonight.

Matt Long is 4-for-12 with three RBIs, and has sent the ball out of the park two consecutive nights at home. Long can also reach double-digits in the hitting streak department, should he get some good wood on the ball.

Paul McAnulty has also had a pair of home runs in the current series, but was just 1-for-4 last night and was struck out twice.

We haven’t reached the point in the season where mathematically each game is a must-win, but against a division opponent like Tacoma you could say that it’s not time for excuses.

The Rainiers are currently 9-24 against division opponents, last place in the division, and are desperate to keep this series open on the road. The Bees certainly can’t boast about a 19-15 record versus division opponents, but keeping an above .500 record is crucial as the season barrels ahead.

Salt Lake (45-44) currently sit in second place in the Northern division, eight games behind Reno (53-35).
